The idea that some bunch of (dare I say ignorant) yokels think that they can redefine science is the height of arrogance on their part. It makes one despair for the public education system that produced them, and the public education system that they oversee. Very sad, on both counts. Perhaps we can get together and redefine religion.
On the other hand, there is a certain logic here. If belief in the supernatural is of transcendant importance, any thing that distracts from it, such as dealing with real world problems in direct and effective ways, is superfluous, and should be abandoned. In Kansas, the majority of the Board of Education has decided to abaondon the scientific approach.
